This work began as a protest piece when my fabric scraps were rejected by a recycler. I was frustrated but determined to meet their “one metre remnant” rule, reconstructing fabric by fusing tiny crumbs and creating work that had pockets of embodied memories. I started to enjoy the process of creating something more organic, watching the beauty of textures evolving. What was once rejected was now something that deserved to be cherished, not thrown into the landfill.
