My intricately pieced and slightly humorous work focuses on telling stories with bits of fabric. The Orange Store is my celebration of the visual symphony of tools and other products we can find in our local big-box hardware stores. By combining the words “symbol” and “graphic,” I created my own word to describe these artworks: “symbographic.” The composition of these mostly improvisational units grows and morphs intuitively as I add more symbographs to complete the narrative.
