Mono-Printed Fabric, Appliqued and Quilted

39” x 53″

After looking inward during the early phase of the pandemic, I needed to tell a larger story. Disposable masks hung from trees like bizarre ornaments. Plastic gloves were carelessly discarded. Plastic refuse was ubiquitous. While these images mulled around my brain a small package of masks arrived at my house. This gift seemed providential. I used the masks to print fabrics. I combined the refuse with circle imagery. Circles include, but also exclude. What goes inside our Covidian circle? What do we keep out?
