Coming from a long career as a musician, I am drawn to work that offers layers of color, form, movement and texture. After studying some of the paintings of Alma Woodsey Thomas and others in the post painterly abstraction period of the 60’s and 70’s, I began experimenting with ways to layer color and form with textiles. This work expresses the joy of totally immersing oneself in layers of complex sound and rhythms.
